چکیده
Abstract Pectate lyases and pectin have essential roles in various biotechnological applications, such as textile industry, paper making, pectic wastewater pretreatment, juice clarification oil extraction. They can effectively cleave the ?-1,4-glycosidic bond of molecules back bone by ?-elimination reaction to produce oligosaccharides. In this way, it will not generate highly toxic methanol has advantages good enzymatic selectivity, less by-products, mild conditions high efficiency. However, numerous researches been done for several decades; there are still no comprehensive reviews summarize recent advances pectate lyases. This review tries fill gap providing all relevant information, including substrate, origin, biochemical properties, sequence analysis, mode action, three-dimensional structure catalytic mechanism.

This is a brief review of what is known about the role of pectate lyases in plants. The mode of action and three-dimensional structure of microbial pectate lyases is discussed first and then the limited information on the plant proteins is presented. Pectate lyase-like genes have been isolated from a wide range of plant tissues including germinating seeds, pollen, cell cultures, and ripening fr...
متن کاملImmobilisation of hydroxynitrile lyases.
Hydroxynitrile lyases are a versatile group of enzymes that are applied both in the laboratory and on an industrial scale. What makes them particularly interesting is that to date five structurally unrelated categories of hydroxynitrile lyases have been discovered. Given their great importance they have often been immobilised utilising many different methodologies. Therefore the hydroxynitrile ...
متن کاملComparative analysis of the five major Erwinia chrysanthemi pectate lyases: enzyme characteristics and potential inhibitors.
In Erwinia chrysanthemi 3937, pectate lyase activity mainly results from the cumulative action of five major isoenzymes, PelA to PelE. Comparison of their amino acid sequences revealed two families, PelB-C and PelA-D-E. Molecular cloning permitted expression of the different pel genes in Escherichia coli and the isolation of each Pel independently from the other isoenzymes. We used similar expe...
